About LoopRace
LoopRace is an independent multiplayer browser game by DIY Elektronik by Knigge. Instead of a developer deciding every circuit, each person in the lobby shapes part of your racing night.
A series built from everyone's ideas
Many party games let groups vote on content. In LoopRace, every valid track gets raced. A tight technical circuit can lead straight into a fast boost-filled track or a chaotic water course.
The editor is deliberately simple: draw, check, place a few objects and submit. You should be able to build a circuit without any level-design experience.
Our own arcade handling
Cars use lightweight, custom arcade physics. Their heading and movement direction can differ, creating controlled drifts. Grass slows you more than asphalt while leaving you in control.
Items produce short effects. Driving skill, track knowledge and choosing a good line should matter more than luck.
Multiplayer in your browser
The game server manages lobbies, tracks, items, checkpoints, laps and results. Your car is simulated locally for immediate input response; other cars are smoothly interpolated between network updates.
No download or registered account is required. Player names are needed for the active lobby and are not stored in a permanent name history or game telemetry.
Independent design
The car visuals and track editor are part of LoopRace's own game world. Locally hosted sound and music packs play through the Web Audio API. Bots bring custom arcade circuits that may be inspired by real racing tracks. The game is independent of established racing-game brands and racing series.
The project grows step by step. New features focus on improving track building, handling and the flow of playing together.
